DB International Operations, headquartered in Berlin, is an integral part of the Deutsche Bahn Group. Our core mission is to acquire, mobilize, and proficiently manage rail operations and maintenance projects beyond the borders of Europe. We specialize in constructing railway enterprises from the ground up, meticulously steering both quality and performance, and effectively disseminating industry best practices to our global clientele and partners.
We are looking for you as Manager:in Business Performance for Railway Operations outside Europe (f/m/d) for DB International Operations located in Berlin as soon as possible.
Your tasks:
As Manager Business Performance you are the DB International Operations liaison to one or more selected local companies in railway operations outside Europe
You shape and maintain everyday working relationships with colleagues from the local company during operations phase, ensure the implementation of Deutsche Bahn's requirements and organize support if necessary
You support the local railway company in continuously improving its performance through effective performance management and the derivation and implementation of targeted measures
By providing further information, targeted briefings and preparing meetings you support the DB shareholder representatives in their work as members of the local board of directors
Your tasks will include preparing performance analyses and devising strategies to improve contract profitability, operational quality, and mitigate operational risks during the operations phase
Furthermore your role involves conducting Lessons Learned sessions involving colleagues from DB IO GmbH and local operating companies (OpCo) and networking as well as best practice sharing during the operational phase
To your responsibilities also belong coordinating with OpCos to prepare for OpCo-Board meetings and ensuring that any additional approval needs are aligned

Your profile

You have successfully completed your degree in economics / business or engineering studies
You have gained first years of work experience in the areas of controlling, business analysis or contract management, ideally within railway operations
Ideally you have knowledge in optimizing and /or further development of business of OpCos within given contractual framework
Within the Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint, Excel and Power BI you see yourself as a proficient user
You are proactive, have good social and intercultural competence and can work both independently and as part of a team
You have a high level of language proficiency (verbal & written) in English (min C1) and good proficiency in German (min B2), additional languages are a plus
You are happy to travel internationally
