Position Overview:
They are seeking a dynamic Lead GIS Data Scientist to spearhead the integration of satellite technology into their existing sensor-based wildfire detection products. This role is pivotal in harnessing satellite imagery and sensor data to create advanced models for wildfire detection and risk assessment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the integration of GIS (Geographic Information System) technology, including satellite imagery, into our existing sensor-based wildfire detection products.
- Develop advanced models for wildfire detection and risk assessment by leveraging GIS data and sensor information.
- Manage multiple data sources to create high-resolution models and improve risk assessment accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in environmental modeling and fire risk prevention.
- Provide strategic guidance on technology adoption and project development.
- Based in Berlin, or willing to relocate, and work predominantly from our office.
Requirements
- Proficiency in GIS technology and data science with experience in statistical modeling.
- Strong understanding of satellite data analysis, particularly in environmental applications.
- Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Willingness to relocate to Berlin or already based in the area.
