PhD Student Position in Cancer Research
65% TV-L E13, 3 years

The University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) of the Georg August University is an attractive place for teaching and learning, research, healthcare and professional training and continuing education. Within the UMG, our research group is looking for a highly motivated PhD student to work on a project exploring the role and application of ferroptosis, an iron- and reactive oxygen species-dependent form of regulated cell death, in the context of melanoma and associated brain metastases.

Ihre Qualifikationen
  • Completed Master’s degree in natural sciences (e.g.: molecular medicine, molecular biology, biochemistry)
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Experience in cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology techniques is preferred
  • Scientific independence
  • Critical eye towards consistency and reproducibility
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm and scientific creativity
