Legal Officer Corporate & Compliance (m/f/d)

The energetic and eager team of the Legal Department supports all legal and compliance aspects of
the FSC Group and advises FSC’s management and its specialized units in their daily operations. The
overall scope covers a variety of law fields, including contract and commercial, data protection, not-for-
profit, private international, labor, anti-trust and competition, intellectual property, corporate and tax,
IT, tenancy, insurance, public and environmental law. You will work closely with the administrative
assistant of FSC’s legal team being the co-hub of administration of legal affairs especially in contract
management and supporting closely all legal counsels in their business affairs.
- Drafting, reviewing, proofreading, negotiating and co-approving various contracts for the FSC Group.
- Supporting the filing of legal documents (contracts, correspondence, assessment, certificates, policies, notes, etc.), maintaining databases and creating institutional memory for the Legal Department.
- Supporting FSC’s contract life cycle management system and connected processes and team meetings. · Responding to different incoming requests related to contracts or connected projects.
- Supporting the procurement of legal services by:
- responding to internal requests for the purchase of legal services;
- conducting RFQ (request for quotation) and RFP (request for proposal) processes for legal services including review, negotiation, reporting and alignment with the legal and/or finance team;
- serving as the co-liaison person between FSC’s procurement team and the legal team;
- answering questions concerning the proper implementation of applicable procurement policies and procedures related to legal services.
- Checking and processing invoices
- Collaborating with internal and external clients and to prepare related writs.
- Preparing and giving training on internal legal procedures to staff.
- Preparation of legal assessment reports and carrying out research activities.
- Substitution of other members in the Legal Department. · Individual projects support as assigned.
- University degree in law. For lawyers educated in Germany: Minimum First State Examination or a Master degree from a reputable University of Applied Sciences.
- Professional experience as practicing attorney in a law firm or in-house officer in a legal department of an international organization is strongly desired but not mandatory.
- Experience in dealing with authorities, clients, courts and law firms is a plus.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required due to being the daily working language a FSC’s Legal Department. German, Spanish and/or French is a strong advantage.
- Quick cognitive ability and good time management skills: ability to perform well while handling simultaneously several functions.
- Service-oriented attitude to work focusing on solving legal challenges with a strong sense for diligence and accuracy but also pragmatism.
- Proven ability to plan and organize work proactively. Experience in project management is a big plus.
- Good skills in the use of the standard software packages, in particular MS Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with Dynamics 365, MS SharePoint, MS Vision and MS Project is helpful.
- Experience with contract databases such as DocuSign CLM and other knowledge management platforms is an important asset.
- Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural, inter-disciplinary and multi-lingual team.
- Strong motivation and dedication to support FSC’s values and mission through excellent individual performance and integrity.
- Location: Bonn, Germany, FSC International headquarter.
- Working Hours: Full-time - 40 hours per week - Hybrid
- Duration of contract: 2-year contract with the intend to go open-ended.
- Starting Date: As soon as possible.
